About Les Cavalieristas!

Meet Consuelo and Violet. They’re not just Cavalier King Charles spaniels — they’re convinced that they’re principesas. After starting out life in puppy mills, they both took circuitous routes to their forever home in Austin, Texas.

La Senorita Principesa Kima Consuelo, our stylin’ little Blenheim, started out in Missouri (born in August 2007) and made the trek to Texas in 2009. It was her Girl’s great good fortune to adopt her in December 2009. Even though Consuelo was extremely hand-shy at first and hadn’t a clue about what a  leash was, you can’t tell it today!

Miss Violet — the soon-to-be-Shrinking black-and-tan girl — had a more indirect route. Born in 2003 (she’s a Cancer!), she was another puppy-mill rescue and lived with another family until August 2010, when she returned to Lucky Star Cavalier Rescue. The Girl invited her home in September.

Violet and Consuelo are now BFFs and quite delighted to rule their home, their Girl, and Edina the Cat. And they owe really big wags and lots of happy dances to Lucky Star Cavalier Rescue, which takes in Cavaliers from puppy mills and other unfortunate circumstances and finds wonderful forever homes for them.

Consuelo and Violet would like to dedicate this site to ThunderDog (below right) and Patsy Clementine, who are on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge indulging in way too many treats, bones, and — ahem — “found” dog candy (that would be Patsy!!!).
